There are several different types of industrial high pressure relief valves

There are several different types of industrial high pressure relief valves currently available, so knowing exactly what you need is incredibly important. This article will cover the basics of high pressure valves in order to provide you with a basic understanding of what is out there and how they work. The following are the two primary types of industrial high pressure relief valves that you should be acquainted with. • Shaft Design – uses a non-sticking solid shaft that passes through three seals which effectively isolates the liquid from the spring. The valve’s orifice will typically be sealed by a seating at the end of the shaft. • Diaphragm Design – Uses a Gasoline Transfer Pumps Factory diaphragm of either elastomer or PTFE as a seal which isolates the spring and the valve orifice seal. Probably the most popular design is the 90 degree angle, porting high pressure valves. The simple design allows for easy installation wherever application is necessary.

So, just how do these industrial high pressure relief valves operate? Essentially, they are most often in a closed position, but will start to open once a certain level of pressurization has been reached. A spring is usually used which presses down on the diaphragm or shaft. You can usually set the desired level of pressure yourself by manually turning the adjustment bolt in a clockwise direction to raise it and a counterclockwise motion to lower it. When the inlet’s pressure reaches this level, liquid will begin to enter into the valve. If you are using a high pressure gas system, then gas will be released into the atmosphere. The valve will open further if the pressure within the system continues to rise which allows more liquid to escape. Next there is the issue of where these industrial high pressure relief valves can be used. They can be used in various parts of your liquid storage system, whatever it may be, in order to provide numerous system control benefits. Interestingly enough, they go by different names depending on where they are installed on this system.

The following is a description of the different names they are given depending on where they are installed:• High Pressure Valves – protect a tank, pump, or segment of pipe from overpressure. • Back Pressure Regulator – retains a desired system pressure in an upstream line. • Bypass– protects your pumps for deadheading by allowing the flow to bypass any obstruction in the line.• Backpressure– Enhances a pump’s performance by providing pressure on the discharge. • Anti-siphon– prevents the unwanted siphoning of chemicals through your pump. Although there are others types of valves available, it is recommend that you stick with industrial high pressure relief valves because they are so versatile and popular. They also feature a nice, small size so setting, making adjustments, and installing is easy.
