QVC host wholesale sexy swimwear Jaynie Renner who stripped for lingerie ads arrested on plane ‘for £60,000 tax evasion’

Jaynie Renner, wholesale fashion dresses 53, was arrested on the runway at Heathrow Airport as she attempted to emigrate to Canada with her new husband

Leeds Crown Court heard the offences took place between 2009 and 2015, while Renner worked for QVC and ran a business selling high end scarves, sarongs and fur hats at craft fairs and shows

Renner’s annual turnover for her clothing business exceeded the threshold for VAT registration in 1999

Prosecuting, Howard Shaw said problems began in May 2009 when Renner failed to submit any tax returns to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC)

Renner – who appeared under her real name Sheila – failed to submit tax returns up until 2015 when the offending came to light

QVCFurther investigations revealed she had also failed to pay income tax

The total loss to the taxpayer was £61,690, of which £49,793 was unpaid VAT

The court heard Renner, from Wakefield, West Yorks., served six months behind bars for false accounting in 1995

The court heard she had lost her job with the shopping channel as a result of the convictions

Mark McKone, mitigating, said the offending took place at a time when Renner was “drowning in debt”

He said: “She buried her head in the sand and is truly sorry for what she has done.”

McKone said Renner had sold home in order to re-pay the money
