The owners of the Matchless marque want to put the brand back

The 06GEN is the model that’s modeled after foot lifter Company. Both go on display at the Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture next month, in case you happen to be in the area and want a snap …The 05GEN is the model with the pedals and funky windscreen; the pedals provide assistance to the electric engine when needed, making this a futuristic moped. Or what about the 03GEN-X, first seen at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show? The Ruckus-like styling, combined with leaning three-wheeler capability, makes this concept look like a sure success if introduced to market. You’ll note that one photo below shows the machine can even be driven from a wheelchair, proving this is indeed the ultimate family-hauler in Asia, a continent that thinks nothing of seeing four or five people hanging off a motorcycle.GALLERYCheck out all the pics that go with this story!.In the past couple of years,

Yamaha introduced some far-out concept bikes that looked wacky but useful. For some background, take a look at the 01GEN, shown at the 2014 Intermot show. The windscreen also doubles as a sort of roof, folding down in storage, and has a panel that opens in front when the weather is nice and the rider wants bugs in their teeth (or when the windscreen got too dirty to see through?). However, their latest two look like they might be practical jokes, not realistic styling exercises. A leaning three-wheeler? Not everyone’s cup of tea, but a semi-practical ride, and one with a market for sure. Now, take a look at the Yamaha’s 05GEN and 06GEN concepts above (more photos in gallery below). It looks like lane-splitting would definitely be a chore with this machine, making us wonder why it’s intended to serve as a commuter machine in urban environments

The Malenotti family uses the logos and branding as   a hook to sell pricey clothes, but now they’re cooperating with the Original Matchless Motorcycle Company Ltd.The new bike will be called the Model X (here’s a look at it when it first appeared at EICMA in 2014). The bonds will be issued through Karadoo. The lower-priced machine (known as the Matchless TT) will sell for £40,000. Currently, there are two companies with rights to the Matchless name. To do that, they’re issuing five-year bonds with a 6% annual  interest rate. More details on the bonds can be found here, if you’re interested in investing. It will be powered by a 1900 cc V-twin.

The premium version (dubbed the Matrix X Reloaded) will carry an £80,000 MSRP., trying to raise money to build bikes again. If the funding drive is successful, the motorcycles will be hand-built in the UK. which gives you an idea what sort of price tag to expect. But, that might be about to change. The owners of the Matchless marque want to put the brand back in production.Matchless Motorcycles: After a run from 1899 to 1966, the Brit bike brand has been little more than a T-shirt logo for the past few years. The owners are hoping to produce two new versions of that bike, and plan raising approximately $7 million USD to fund the effort
