SIG has successively launched versions 1.2, 2.0 and other additional new features, such as EDR (Enhanced Data Rate, which, in line with the 2.0 technical standard, increases the maximum transmission speed to 3Mbps), A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, a control track distribution technology, mainly applied to stereo headphones), AVRCP (A/V Remote Control Profile), etc. Bluetooth 2.0 increases the transmission rate to 2Mbps and 3Mbps, far greater than the 1Mbps of version 1.x.

The first three generations of Bluetooth technology standards, namely 1.x, 2.x, and 3.0 transmission protocols, are mainly characterized by wireless high-speed data transmission between devices, short distances, and high power consumption. Bluetooth 5.0 also supports indoor positioning and navigation function (indoor positioning with an accuracy of less than 1 meter can be achieved in combination with the WiFi module), allowing data from beacons (such as advertisements, Beacon, location information, etc., to be received without pairing, and the transmission rate is increased by 8 times). There are many low-level optimizations in networking. At the same time, it supports mesh network topology such as Bluetooth module mesh ad hoc network.
