The more time consuming procedures allow the physician

For the past twenty years we have been moving further and further into a time of faster and faster results. We all want to get a great deal with as little effort as possible. The men and women who seek cosmetic procedures are no different. There are several plastic surgeons across the country and around the world who participate in seminars to prepare themselves for use of the tools and application of the techniques that allow them to provide shorter procedures and smaller incisions. Predominately women and a few cosmetic lotion pump hundred men each year want to benefit from a weekend or lunchtime session or series of sessions that will lift, firm, reduce or enhance their features and parts in as little time as possible.

The promises that these quickie procedures tout – not necessarily the plastic surgeon – is that they will be the same quality of results of the average length procedure. This is difficult to maintain when some doctors are not experienced enough to provide such results. The more time consuming procedures allow the physician, whether they are a new graduate or a veteran, time to slowly dissect, determine solutions to surprises during surgery, and close the incision beautifully. But these quick procedures leave potential patients to wonder how much of a difference the plastic surgeon can make in half an hour, for example. If it takes several hours to make a successful difference with a face lift or liposuction then should patients settle for minimal changes from these quick procedures, even though they want the real thing? The quicker procedures also promise minimal scarring.

The size of the scar is a part of the appeal. Patients want to be able to go back to work the next day or the following Monday. They want to be able to show off the effects of the rejuvenation not the tell tale signs of the surgery. Yes, these quickened procedures are supposed to be less invasive and more affordable, but, as stated earlier, the performance of the changes may be compromised as a result of the time constraints and size of the incision. When in pursuit of such procedures, be sure that the plastic surgeon you seek is not only state licensed but board certified with their area of specialization. This ensures that they have the education, training and experience with the latest tools and application methods that can bring forth the safest results to each patient regardless of the approach.
