Medium voltage drives are used in large and multi-megawatt electric motors in power stations and metalworking plants. Their output is 4160 VAC, but can go up to 69,000 VAC. They require high input voltage to achieve high output voltage. In terms of cost, medium voltage drives require larger and more expensive circuit breakers and transformers. Compared to LV drives, they are physically larger. Many electronic devices, such as timers or digital clocks, draw their power from the peaks of the positive and negative curves.

However, the modified sine wave power charger has a flat line instead of a peak point. It causes double triggering. Therefore, their performance will suffer from this noisy and sudden sine wave. So the digital clock either runs faster or stops working. Inkjet printers have different requirements than laser printers. Inkjet printers can function properly with a modified sine wave inverter that is rated to meet the printer’s power requirements.
