The upper and lower molds are disassembled

The process is closely linked. In terms of the process of vacuum bag forming, compared with autoclave forming, the biggest difference of vacuum bag forming method is that there is no air pressure outside the vacuum bag, and no pressure plate, so the carbon fiber monocoque body can be formed by using an oven. After molding, the upper and lower molds are disassembled, and the carbon fiber monocoque of the HRT team is complete.

On the whole, the carbon fiber monocoque body as a composite material can complete the material forming and structure formation in one process. After molding, you only need to remove the vacuum bag,Wholesale Polymethacrylimide Foam Suppliers and there is no problem that the parts cannot be demolded. The carbon fiber monocoque molding process has an understanding of the traditional material molding process, and it is easier to understand the process specificity of the carbon fiber monocoque car body. Therefore, the carbon fiber monocoque body of the HRT team only needs two upper and lower female molds to be formed, which greatly saves the cost of manufacturing molds.

Of course, this feature of forming material and structure at the same time also provides more options for its forming method. In addition, the vacuum bag molding method has very low requirements for the mold. Although the technology has not yet been fully popularized in civilian vehicles, we have reason to believe that with the successive trials of Ford GT, BMW 7 Series and other models, the time when the technology is decentralized is no longer far away.

As mentioned in the introduction of the carbon fiber monocoque body in the previous issue, the cars of the Harbin Institute of Technology HRT team all use carbon fiber prepreg technology, and the advantage of this technology is only two words-cost. Of course, these categories can be further subdivided into categories such as secondary injection molding, negative mold adsorption, etc.
