They include 15 from island city, 10 from western and five from eastern suburbs.Out of the 123 ongoing junction works, 30 will be completed before the monsoon.The new road works include Colaba Woods Street, Tardeo Road, Fitwala Marg, Dr Shirodkar Marg, NC Kelkar Marg, GD Ambekar Marg, Barrister Nath Pai Road among others.“The total cost of roads works to be undertaken in 2016-17 will be around Rs 2,000 crore, including the new and ongoing works,” said Manohar Pawar, chief engineer, roads department.As a part of its master plan for improvement of city roads, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will undertake the resurfacing of more than 1,000 roads at the cost of Rs 1,460 crore.In addition to this, repairs of 30 major road junctions and the proposed spot repair works on city roads will also be completed before monsoon.The civic chief has also directed road department officials Anti traffic barrel Manufacturers to complete tender process of 369 works, which have been proposed in the civic budget 2016-17, before August this year. They include 208 works from the island city, 89 from western suburbs and 72 from eastern suburbs.The BMC has prepared a master plan for improvement of city roads, under which all roads will be resurfaced by the year 2017. The remaining 657 works have to be completed before April next year. The 539 works, for which new work orders have been issued, will have to be completed before April 2017.
