What Is a Trailer Control Valve?

A trailer control valve is a device that introduces control pressure into the brake line after the parking brake is engaged. When the parking braking system is activated, the valve bleeds the parking connection and creates pressure in the brake line. This action moves the trailer into a brake position. This device is often Trailer control valve found on dollies for maneuvering purposes. The device releases a service application and re-parks a pneumatically parked dolly.

The trailer control valve has many advantages. It helps to eliminate the need for an extra hydraulic chamber and is highly reliable.
