Air Brake Control Valve

The air Brake Control Valve is a critical component of your car’s braking system. The air brakes in your vehicle work by releasing pressurized air through a system called the supply system. The air compressor is the main player in this system and is powered by an engine. Its output pressure is controlled by a governor. It may be either manual or automatically operated. Air brake systems are designed to operate safely and efficiently at a constant pressure of between 100 and 120 psi. In colder climates, alcohol is added to the system to prevent water freezing. Another type of air brake system is equipped with an air dryer, which removes most of the water from the system. The air dryer is made of a desiccant material, which absorbs the moisture from the air compressor.

A preferred embodiment of the air brake control valve is shown in Fig. It is adapted for use with a trailer air brake system 1000. The trailer 800 is not shown, but is similar to the trailer control valve. The control valve includes a main supply input, which is part of the trailer’s air system output, a air Brake Control Valve second service brake control input, and a hand brake control input. These valves are made with the highest engineering standards and conform to federal safety regulations.

The air brake control valve of this invention is a spring system. The springs are connected to the brake power chamber via an emergency supply line 12. The air is pumped into the valve through an inlet supply port 14, and cannot pass to the service reservoir “T” until it reaches a predetermined minimum pressure. When this pressure is reached, the minimum pressure protection valve will close the supply passageway 16. The gas is then discharged through the discharge port 22, which is connected to the service reservoir “T”.

This valve also has an orifice for the throttle module to move on the axis of the valve. This allows the inlet supply gas to flow into the spring brakes, and the pressure will gradually rise in the spring brakes. Once the pressure is sufficient, the brakes will release. When this occurs, the air Brake Control Valve is essential to the safety of your car. While it is essential that you do not hit the brakes too hard or overreact, a poorly functioning air brake control valve can ruin your driving experience.

If you want to make sure your car’s air brakes work as intended, be sure to understand what your air brakes are. Many vehicles have a separate air tank for emergency situations. These separate air tanks allow the driver to release the spring brakes and move the vehicle in an emergency. This type of valve is controlled by a push-pull valve. Typically, it is in the “out” position, but can only be released a few times.
